What does it mean to be human?

Being human and humane are two completley different things. To be human you would typically have the physical structure, organs, and body parts that everyone around you has. Being humane is being able to understand and connect with those"bodies" around you. When your able to look at another human being and your able to understand and have some compassion for them is when you are human. To be able to realize the differences within people but at the same time search for the similarities between you and another person is when you are human. Being human isn't just being born and having a physical body structure. When you can itneract with one another on a deeper level and really get in touch with them and feel for them is what it is to be human. We have so many responsibilities as "humans" that we think were just here to go through the motions, get a job, have a family, get old and at some point pass on. But, thats not what being a person/human or atleast decently humane person is all about. Taking your life and applying it to other lives, using your emotional and deeper mentality to relate to another person is being human. Showing someone else some sense of compassion instead of hostility is being human. We are natural fighters and protectors, so to go beyond that and break the "norm" is being a human. To live a decent, civilized and empathetic life is to be human/humane.
